On Mick Jagger's 80th birthday, we look back on the Stones' long career. They recently had their last No. 1 hit when they released the song "Living in a Ghost Town" just in time for the coronavirus pandemic. Of course, the work was already written in 2019, but it was naturally an opportune moment to musically underline the Ghost Town theme, so the recordings were completed remotely. With Living in a Ghost Town, the Rolling Stones released the first new song since 2012, initially online.
Charlie Watts also took part before his death, making it the last song in the line-up. In the video from 2021, 78-year-old Mick Jagger is still performing and shows that you can still perform even after heavy drug use in old age.
The fact that the song became No. 1 in Germany made the Stones the oldest performers ever to achieve this and the time between this No. 1 and the last is the longest period ever measured between two No. 1 hits by a band. The Stones' last No. 1 hit was Jumping Jack Flash in 1968. The Stones are a live sensation, not least because of Mick Jagger.
