Ibrahim Maalouf's family fled to France because of the civil war in Lebanon. His father was a musician and played the trumpet, his mother played the piano and the whole family consists of musicians, artists and journalists. His father started giving him trumpet lessons when Ibrahim was seven years old. He then quickly performed with his father and studied trumpet in Paris. He has won numerous prizes and has composed music for his own 16 records, as well as film music, for which he has received Grammy nominations.
