When a soundtrack sells over two million copies, it is not only because the leading roles were perfectly cast with Leonardo de Caprio and Claire Danes; not only because the Baz Luhrmann film produced a series of extraordinary images; not only because it tells the tragic love story of William Shakespeare, in which boundless love is kindled in the midst of a merciless, hate-filled world; but also because the soundtrack contains many very good songs. Two of them were contributed by the then 14-year-old Quindon Tarver as a choirboy, who sang Prince's When Doves Cry, the outstanding cover version of the song.
If you don't know the movie: catch up. If you don't have the soundtrack: it's your own fault!
