The first time I heard the title, I was in a record store in London. That was in 1994 as part of a language study trip. I liked the song immediately. I just love the scene where she walks out of the club and continues singing in the toilet of the Milk Club in London. There are better-known tracks on the album, but for me the song was always about the figurative statement that also appears in the Bremen Town Musicians. "You'll find something better than death anywhere."
Basically, we all want to experience adventures or something special. Jumping between the boats in the early morning or the first and freshest bread from the baker are wonderful adventures.
The album "Debut" from 1993 was an immediate success and is still high up in many rankings today. The album marked Björk's breakthrough as a solo artist. She had previously been a singer with the Sugarcubes. There, too, she showed off her great, interesting and fascinating voice.
Artists like Björk are very special beings. The video above certainly gives you a little insight. I also heard an interview with her some time ago in which she said that you could sing anything and that she would sing all day long. In the morning she would sing "I'm going to eat a loaf of bread with strawberry jam" and so on. Give it a try. It really works 😉
