Today, animal rights activists would probably hold vigils in front of every movie theater where the film was shown. In 1960, the actors themselves were allowed to capture animals, as there were no stuntmen, which were then transported, at least in part, to zoos around the world. And that is exactly the content of the film, in addition to the usual 60s humor. John Wayne, Hardy Krüger and Elsa Martinelli played the leading roles in Howard Hawks’ film. The film was shot in Tanzania. Old master Henry Mancini composed the soundtrack, which I like to use as a test song for the Sarasvati Soundbar because the piece sounds so wonderfully spacious.
