When I was in South Korea in 1995, the country didn't seem particularly crazy to me. The locals were very friendly and shy and the big opening to the West was still to come and was certainly boosted by the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea.
During a vacation in Avignon, a South Korean group danced a funny dance with inflatable dinosaur costumes. The song was of course the big South Korean export hit "Gangman Style" by PSY.
However, there is another gem in the current charts. It's the group (G)I-DLE, where GI stands for I and DLE is a syllable for the plural of 6 different characters in the girl group. The video for the song NXDE has some references to Madonna, but I couldn't find anything about it.
