Mexico
Beautiful and beloved Mexico. If I die far away from you, let it be said that I sleep and bring me here.
This is the refrain of Mexico's de facto second national anthem "México lindo y querido". The folk song was made famous by the Mexican actor and singer Jorge Negrete, who ironically died in Los Angeles and was then transferred to Mexico.
Julieta Venegas is one of several well-known Mexican singers. She became interested in music at the age of eight and was a member of various bands before embarking on a solo career. She sings and plays acoustic guitar, accordion and keyboard, among other instruments. In 2004 she won the Latin Grammy for Best Vocal Rock Album "Sí". Together with Bad Bunny and Tainy, she had a top hit this year.
