The “Wizard” of techno reinterpreted his classic alongside an 80-piece orchestra. With Blue Potential, Jeff Mills ventured into an experiment to merge his futuristic techno compositions with a classical orchestra conducted by Alain Altinoglu. This unique concert was recorded in July 2005 against the ancient backdrop of the Pont du Gard in Southern France. The driving beats of a Roland TR-909 were preserved. Everything else was replaced by bells and classical instruments, giving the piece an epic, almost cinematic depth and drama created by the orchestra. It is a real joy to listen to this piece on a Sarasvati audio furniture unit.
